When you think about going on a road trip, you might think of sunny, warm days. But you can’t count out winter. In fact, winter is a great time of year to visit some great places. Here are three winter road trips in Kentucky you should take.

·         Toyota Motor Manufacturing. Located in Georgetown, you can take a tour of Toyota’s 11,500 square foot Visitor Center. This offers hands-on experiences that let you see how Toyota vehicles are produced. You can also see the first Toyota Camry that rolled off the line in 1988.

·         Hidden River Cave. Remarkably, underground caves actually stay comfortable all year round. The Hidden River Cave is located beneath the City of Horse Cave. Winter tours run from 9:30am through 4pm.

·         Kentucky Derby Museum. Learn about “The Greatest Race” with a historic walking tour of Churchill Downs. The museum offers two floors of exhibits for an in-depth look at Thoroughbred racing.

If you need a new car before the weather gets too cold, come pay us a visit at Frankfort Toyota. Try out the Toyota Highlander with three spacious rows of seating and available all-wheel drive. Or, if you need more serious power, the Tundra offers towing power up to 10,500 pounds when properly equipped.
