Two different systems can be found at the heart of the 2026 4Runner, the first being the standard i-FORCE 2.4L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine. It’s a steady all-rounder, providing up to 278 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque when you press the accelerator. Next is the i-FORCE MAX 2.4L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder hybrid powertrain, which takes the previous system and adds an electric motor to achieve 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. Either choice comes paired with a standard eight-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission to ensure a smooth distribution of power. Full-time and Part-time 4WD systems are available to complete the drivetrain and add tremendous all-terrain capability when your travels take you off the paved surfaces of roads such as I-264.
